PURPOSE:To enable to easily confirm the last printed line, by a method wherein the number of lines by which a printing head is fed is so set that at least the printed information beneath the head is shifted upward off the head. CONSTITUTION:Data supplied from a host computer are edited, are stored in a printing buffer 121, and are sequentially printed out by a thermal-type printing head 4. When printing in the last line is completed, no data ramain in the buffer 121, and at this moment, characters printed in the last line, e.g., ''H'' and ''I'', are covered by the head 4 and a ribbon cassette 6. To enable these characters to be seen, a paper-feeding motor 24 is rotated forward by a predetermined amount, thereby feeding a printing paper 2 in the direction of a solid-line arrow by a predetermined number of lines. Accordingly, the characters printed in the last line can be easily confirmed. When starting printing in this condition, the motor 24 is reversely rotated by a predetermined amount. |
