WEATHER STRIP FOR AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE:To securely seal a part where water leakage is prevented, by forming a flocked portion at an area where a weather strip body is in contact with a part of a vehicle body panel, and providing a water-repellent surface-treated layer on a surface of a pile of the flocked portion. CONSTITUTION:A peripheral edge 6b of a flange 6a formed along an opening 8 of a vehicular body is engaged with a groove 9 formed in a welt portion 1 as a weather strip body. A flocked portion 10 is formed at an area where a bottom portion of the groove 9 is in contact with a part of the vehicular body panel 6. A water-repellent surface-treated layer formed of water-repellent substance such as silicone oil and paraffin is provided on a surface of a pile of the flocked portion 10.
