PURPOSE:To eliminate remaining cooling water entirely, to reduce deformation of a steel plate and to make material quality uniform by providing an inclined nozzle in a cooling liquid header arranged above and below the steel plate, and to expel leaked cooling water in the direction of plate width. CONSTITUTION:Cooling headers 8, 9, 14 extending in the direction of plate width are provided in exit side of each cooling unit 1 of a cooling device of thick steel plate M. Headers 8, 9, 14 are opposed in the directin of carrying of the steel plate M, and cooling liquid jetting nozzles 11, 12, 16 having jetting ports faced to opposite direction to the direction of carrying are arranged obliquely. Above-mentioned unit 1 consists of rotary rolls 3, 4 that press the steel plate M from both sides, cooling liquid headers 8, 9, 14, and many nozzles that face the face of the steel plate M provided along its longitudinal direction. By this device, the residual cooling water is eliminated, the deformation of the steel plate is reduced and the material quality is made uniform. |
