The subject of the present invention is a system for cleaning brush bristles which enables them to be cleared of brushing residues. The system is integrated into a brush body and is actuated by simply pressing with the thumb of the hand holding the brush. Thus, the force of the thumb is exerted on a push-button 7 embedded in the body of the brush and securely attached at its end to a small plate 6 traversed by all the bristles 8. The push-button 7 moves perpendicularly to the brush body and entrains the movable small plate 6 for cleaning, from the base of the bristles 8 as far as their end, which results in removal of residues tangled between them. When the force ceases, the small plate 6 for cleaning re-assumes its initial position at the base of the bristles 8 through the action of a return spring 5 and the brush equipped with this integrated cleaning system is once again ready for further efficient use. <IMAGE>
