The invention relates to a device making it possible to counteract small-scale trivial floods in the regions which are subjected to recurring floods. It consists of a panel 1 provided with a seal 5 placed on one of its faces 3 and the edge 4. A threaded rod 6 is placed at its support point/centre of gravity. Struts 10 and 11 which are possibly adjustable push on the panel of the opening, in the plane of the centre of gravity. In the event of a flood, the user places the panel and, by screwing the wheel 16, presses uniformly on the seal 5 by virtue of the previously determined slope of the threaded rod 6. The inclination is determined by taking account of the height, which is constant, and of the width which is variable depending on the opening to be closed off. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for making residences watertight during flooding. <IMAGE>
