摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To protect the particulate catching member from overheat by controlling the intake air when the temperature of said member is higher than predetermined level while Diesel engine is under decelerating condition (including idling). CONSTITUTION:In a system where the particulates in the exhaust gas from an engine E are caught through an oxidizer 5 arranged in the exhaust path 4, an intake throttle valve 21 having a diaphragm pressure responsive unit 22 as an actuator is provided in the intake path 3. Said unit 22 is functioned by the atmospheric pressure to be fed through a solenoid valve 27 or 28 and an air filter 23 into the pressure chamber 22c or the vacuum pressure from a vacuum pump 25. Then the solenoids 27a, 28a of respective valve 27, 28 are controlled to drive the intake throttle valve 21 to the closing side when the temperature of the oxidizer 5 is higher than predetermined level and the engine is under decelerating condition.</p>
