<p>PURPOSE:To protect the particulate catching member from overheat by injecting predetermined amount of fuel when the temperature of said member is higher than predetermined level while the engine is under decelerating condition thereby increasing the exhaust flow and the carrying amount of heat. CONSTITUTION:In a system where the particulates in the exhaust gas from an engine E are caught by an oxidizer 5 arranged in the exhaust path 4, fuel injection control means or an injection pump lever opener 46 is provided for a fuel injection pump 17 and controlled through an electronic control unit (ECU). ECU will receive output signals from engine condition detecting means such as a temperature sensor 15 for detecting the temperature of the oxidizer 5, an injection pump lever opening sensor 19, etc. When the temperature of the oxidizer 5 is higher than predetermined level and the engine E is under decelerating state, solenoid valves 47, 47' for changing over the atmospheric pressure/vacuum pressure are controlled to drive said opener 46 in the increasing direction of fuel injection.</p> |
