Improvement to a treatment device, during the passage of a liquid alloy or metal stream based on aluminium or magnesium. The device comprises a ladle consisting of an outer metal envelope, an inner refractory lining, a shoot for the inlet of raw liquid metal at the rear part, a runner for the treated liquid metal at the front part, and at least one internal partition made of good heat conductive material defining with the bottom of the ladle a space for the circulation of liquid metal and delimiting a first rear compartment and at least a second front compartment opening out in the runner. The improvement provides that the partition (18) comprises at least a well (50) opening to the outside, wherein there is arranged at least one removable heating element (51) which may be comprised of ceramic elements (52) supporting electric resistances (53) or which may be comprised of a gas burner.
