Combustion apparatus, specifically a gas turbine engine has a combustor (32) for burning liquid fuel introduced through nozzles (114) which also provide for introduction of a liquid coolant, the liquid fuel/liquid coolant mixture introduced into the combustor being contacted by a swirling stream of air passing through the nozzles (114) to atomize and uniformly mix the fuel, coolant and air for combustion. |
