A seal for a window pane which is guided in a frameless fashion in a motor vehicle body encloses a cavity which is bounded towards the window pane by means of a web. On the inside of the web, a projection is formed which extends into the cavity and prevents a bead which increases the actuation forces building up in front of the window pane when it is raised.
