In an energy cell having a frame which contains a tube and is continued by an upper shelf part formed from tubes, provision is made for the upper shelf part to comprise at least two brackets which can be inserted with a peg into the open ends of vertical tubes of the frame and each bracket forms a cantilever arm projecting horizontally from the tubes and which brackets are provided in the region of the vertical tubes and in the region of their free ends with receptacles for two tubular pieces which are to be arranged horizontally between them and serve as supports for a panel or the like.
