The subject matter of the invention is a protective swing hood for a portable circular saw, which protective swing hood is rotatably mounted on the outer wall of the housing boss accommodating the bearing for the drive spindle of the circular saw and is under the action of a restoring spring. The object of the invention is to realise a bearing arrangement for the protective swing hood in which a machining operation is dispensed with and assembly is simplified. This object has been achieved according to the invention by virtue of the fact that the protective swing hood (1) has a closed neck provided with a collar (2), and the collar reaches behind an open bearing ring (6) which is provided with fixing lugs (7, 8), is inserted into a recess (11) provided in the saw housing and is fixed in its position by means of a protective plate (13) which can be mechanically connected to the saw housing (4). <IMAGE>
