The invention relates to an arrangement having converter-current tripping in the tripping circuit of protection relays, in the case of which a tripping converter (2) is connected in series with the protection relay in the secondary circuit of a main converter (1). The tripping converter supplies the supply current for the operating-current trip device (10), via the secondary winding (5), which operating-current trip device (10) switches off (12) the network in the event of a disturbance. In the quiescent state, the secondary windings (5 and 6) are connected in series via the normally-closed contact (9). In the event of high short-circuit currents in the network and the protection relay (7) being set in a delayed manner, the secondary winding (6), with its relatively large number of turns, reduces the secondary current of the tripping converter (2). <IMAGE>
