In a link band, particularly a watchband comprising closure elements for the detachable connection of two band parts and enabling to modify and adjust the length of the band, with intercogged parts and lockable in a cogged position by a stop slide (73), there is provided in order to obtain a flat configuration not exceeding or just exceeding the double of the band thickness a plurality of mechanisms which sustain each other and co-operate to reduce the total thickness of the band in the closure area since, on one side, the stop slide (73) is brought by its side ends into a trough, respectively a groove (71) on the side edges of one of the band parts to be connected, on the other side, the stop slide brought to a band portion is provided with a protecting part (744) enabling it to hold from the upper side on the front end of the other band part the ratchet position (727), said end thereof being appropriately reduced in thickness preferably to the thickness of the stop slide material.
