<p>A garnet disc microwave circulator and isolator is characterized, according to the invention, inter alia, by: great ease of construction; minimum dimensions; high repeatability; low testing times; and possibility of calibration in a wide sub-range of its frequency range, and consists substantially (figure 1) and successively from top to bottom, of: an iron-based first disc, a permanent magnet, a second iron-based disc; a dielectric disc, a garnet disc and a third iron disc. The first two iron discs and the dielectric disc are preferably interchangeable with discs of different thickness, and the garnet disc presents critical "stubs" accompanied by calibration platforms preferably associated also with the main line. An isolator is obtained from the circulator in question by the simple addition of a resistance to one of the gates.</p> |
