PURPOSE:To let the user know the finished state of a material to be heated and to display the detection level by a pictorial expression by providing a detection element for detecting the finished state of the material to be heated, and providing a pictorial finished state display part in accordance with an output signal of the detection element. CONSTITUTION:Fig. (a) shows the time of starting the heating. Fig. (b) shows the time where the detection level of the detection element in a low temperature. Fig. (c) shows the time where the detection level thereof is a high temperature. Fig. (d) shows the pictorial finished state of the display device. The microwave oven is provided with a mechanism for automatically controlling of a material F to be heated and a display device 5 for displaying the finishing state such as the heated and a display device 5 for displaying the finishing state such as the temperature and the like, and a detection element S is provided outside a heating case 3 so as to detect the finished state of the temperature and the like of the material F within the heating case 3.
