PURPOSE:To enable the sensing of oxygen deficiency in a gas burner and of a diminished flame or the like even in a thermal equipment with a short combustion flame by a method wherein an electromagnetic valve which is driven by an electromotive force generated between an inner circumferential electrode and an outer circumferential electrode and is constructed in such a way as it is opened under a normal combustion and closed under an incomplete combustion is arranged in a gas supplying pipe. CONSTITUTION:A platinum paste is baked to an inner and outer circumferential surface of a sensor 1 formed with zirconia stabilized by yttria an inner circumferential electrode and an outer circumferential electrode are formed, further zirconia powder is melt injected to the surface of the outer circumferential electrode to form a protective film. When a main burner 4 and a normal flame burner 5 are ignited, the sensor 1 is heated and the outer circumferential electrode is contacted with a reducing atmosphere under a combustion flame of the normal flame burner 5, the inner circumferential electrode is contacted with oxidizing atmosphere to generate a high electromotive force and thus an electromagnetic valve 6 is kept closed and the supplying of gas is terminated. |
