NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (A is carbonyl or methylene; R1 is H, alkyl, alkoxyl, nitro or halogen; R2 is H or phenyl; n is 1-3) and an acid addition salt thereof. EXAMPLE:1-(3,4,5-Trimethoxycinnamoyl)-4-(3-pyridylmethyl)piperazine. USE:A drug for cardiovascular systems, having peripheral vasodilator and hypotensive action, and useful as a vasodilator and hypotensive agent. PREPARATION:A pyridine derivative expressed by formula II (X is halogen) and a piperazine derivative expressed by formula III are refluxed in the presence of a base in an inert solvent under stirring for several - some 10hr or a piperzine derivative expressed by formula IV and a cinnamonyl derivative or cinnamyl derivative expressed by formula V are stirred in the presence of a base in an inert solvent at room temperature for several hours or refluxed in an organic solvent under heating for several hours - some 10hr to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I .
