PURPOSE:To obtain an optical multiplexer and demultiplexer which permits the simultaneous connection with optical fibers for lead by the use of a multi- cored optical connector by embedding the optical multiplexer and demultiplexer part and the optical fibers connecting thereto into a resin mold and exposing the ends of the respective optical fibers in the state of arraying said ends to the end face of the resin mold body. CONSTITUTION:Light of wavelength lambda1-lambda3 is demultiplexed by the optical multiplexer and demultiplexer parts 5a, 5b and the light of wavelengths lambda1-lambda3 can be respectively discretely taken out of the 2nd-4th optical fibers 1b-1d when said light is put into the 1st optical fiber 1a in the optical multiplexer and demultiplexer 8. The optical multiplexer and demultiplexer 8 is formed with a pair of holes 7 for fitting positioning pins so as to be positioned on both ends of the fibers 1a-1d arranged to the resin mold body 6 and therefore the simultaneous connection of the fibers 1a-1d to optical fibers 10a-10d for lead is made possible when the optical multiplexer and demultiplexer is connected to the multi-cored optical connector 11 by positioning the same with pins 13. |
