PURPOSE:To connect multiple stages with a simple structure without increasing the number of signal lines for communications by performing asynchronous serial communications between a recording unit and peripheral units or among peripheral units. CONSTITUTION:The copying machine control circuit of a copying machine displays the number of set sheets for copying, the number of copied sheets, etc. on a display unit, receives various commands from an operation unit, performs the copying sequence control and automatic original feeder control and further controls a sorter 1 via serial communications. The control circuit of the sorter 1 performs the asynchronous data transmission/reception with the copying machine and a sorter 2 via serial communications, feeds various information on the display unit, and performs the sequence control of the sorter 1. |
