NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (X is group of formula II, formula III, etc.; Y is substituted or unsubstituted pyridyl, pyrimidyl, thiazolyl, etc.; p is 2-3) and its acid addition salt. EXAMPLE:N[4-(2-pyridyl)-1-piperazinylmethyl]succinimide. USE:Remedy for diabetes for oral or parenteral administration. Dose; 100- 1,000mg, preferably 250-500mg daily. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be prepared by the Mannich reaction of the imide compound of formula IV with the piperazine or homopiperazine compound of formula V in the presence of formalin in a solvent (e.g. ethanol). |
