<p>In order to create a controlled roughness at the surface of the cylinder, by means of a particle beam, the cylinder is put into rotation about its axis, a particle beam source is arranged in such a manner that it emits a beam along a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder, the said beam is focused on the surface of the cylinder and the said source is displaced parallel to the axis of the cylinder. The speed of rotation of the cylinder is preferably synchronised with the speed of displacement of the said source.</p> |
