The switching circuit arrangement with overload protection for an electrical load has an electronic switch, such as a FET, with a signal source giving periodic switch on signals to the switch and a memory element which prevents the passage of the switch on signals when an overload is detected by a Hall effect element. - The element stores a control signal derived from a frequency divider converting the stream of pulses (switch on signals) into single pulses. It passes it on to a driver stage receiving the switch on signals and then to the FET. The memory element is reset on reception of an overload signal.
