PURPOSE:To assure the safety of a reactor even with AC power sources all interrupted by providing a battery for accumulating via a battery charger a current avaiable from an AC generator and a rectifier connected with a turbine. CONSTITUTION:A turbine 9 is provided, which is driven by steam produced by steam producer 1 such as a reactor, etc. An AC current generated by an AC generator 10 connected with the turbine 9 is converted to a DC current through a rectifier 12. The DC current is accumulated in a battery 14 via a battery charger 13. A controller 16 drives and controls the turbine 9 by a DC current from the battery 14. Thus, a DC current for use in turbine control even when all AC power sources are interrupted in a nuclear power plant can be assured whereby the safety of a reactor can be secured. |
