<p>Silver is obtd. from ores, industrial residues or any raw material contg. silver sulphide, by reaction at high temp. in a molten bath with a metal whose sulphide is more stable than that of silver. The metal sulphide formed floats on the bath and is separated mechanically or physically from the molten silver, which is subsequently refined electrolytically. Suitable metals are Al, Zn, Mn, Fe, Cd, Mg, Na, Ca, K, Sn, Ni, Cu, Co or Pb.</p> |
