PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of oil to be impregnated into the surface layer on the outside peripheral of a roller and to suppress deterioration in the rubber surface layer on the outside peripheral of the roller by adding an oxygen collecting agent into said oil. CONSTITUTION:An oxygen collecting agent is added to oil 8 to be used for oil impregnation treatment of the surface layer 2b on the outside peripheral of a roller 12 consisting of a rubber material and such oil is used for said treatment. The oxygen collecting agent, for example, calcium carbonate or the like is added to the oil 8 to be used for the impregnation treatment of the roller 12, for example, silicone oil in the above-mentioned way, by which the generation of depolymn. and crosslinking by contact with the oxygen in the atm. is prevented and the deterioration of the silicone oil is suppressed. The deterioration of the silicone oil owing to the resultant product of deterioration of the oil is suppressed accordingly. The need for frequency exchange of the oil is thus eliminated, the cost of the oil impregnation treatment is reduced and the deterioration of the rubber forming the surface layer 2a with the deterioration of the oil 8 is prevented. |
