PURPOSE:To prevent scattering of glass even if a pair of glass substrates inerposed with an electrochemical element of which the optical characteristic is electrically changed is broken by interposing scatteringly an adhesive part which adheres partially both glass substrates between said substrates. CONSTITUTION:A reflection mirror has an outside frame 2 and a mounting part 1. The frame 2 has, successively from the incident end face of light, a glass substrate 3a and a transparent electrode 4a disposed to one end face of the substrate 3a. An oriented film 5 is formed to the electrode 4a. A glass substrate 3b is provided on the opposite side and a transparent electrode 4b and an oriented film 5b are formed on the liquid crystal surface side of the substrate 3b. A metallic reflecting layer 7 is formed on the other end face of the substrate 3b and a self-adhesive tape 8 is joined to the end face of the layer 7. Substrates 3a, 3b are disposed in parallel and a sealing part 9a is provided on the side thereof. An epoxy adhesive agent is disposed discretely and spottedly between the substrates 3a and 3b to form adhesive parts 8b. A liquid crystal 6 is sealed between the substrates 3a and 3b. The scattering of the glass when the substrates are broken is thus prevented. |
