The sterilisation cassette (1) comprises a cover part (C) with a cover wall (2) and a pair of side walls (6, 7) connected thereto, a bottom part (B) with a bottom wall, a front wall and a rear wall, columns (20) which are fixed to the lateral edges of front and rear wall, and two handles (30), each of which is fixed to one side wall (6, 7). Each column (20) has a neck extending beyond the upper edges of the front and rear walls, and a head (26) located at the top of the neck and projecting beyond the latter on all sides. The cover wall (2) is provided at its front edge with two incisions and in the vicinity of its rear edge with a pair of openings. The incisions and openings are each provided with a concave bulge at their rear edges. These bulges are arranged such that they come to rest below the heads (26) when the cassette is closed and prevent an upward movement of the cover wall (2). The handles (30) are pivotable about pivot axes extending along the side walls (6, 7) and each engage with close fit between the heads (26) of two columns (20) when the cassette (1) is closed and thus prevent displacement of the cover part (C). <IMAGE>
