<p>PURPOSE:To distribute air fuel mixture having about equal air fuel ratio to each cylinder of an intake manifold of a 3 cylinder engine by providing a vertical height difference between the intake passage of the first and third cylinders and of the second cylinder. CONSTITUTION:When branching intake passages B1, B2 and B3, for example, the intake passage B1 for the first cylinder and the intake passage B3 for the third cylinder are branched in a horizontal plane to form a symmetrical or about symmetrical arrangement while the intake passage B2 for the second cylinder is branched in about straight line with a manifold pipe portion B4 in the top view but inclined upward in the side view with a bend B2' provided therein at a height H thereby making the intake passage B2 for the second cylinder higher than the intake passages B1 and B3 for the first and third cylinders to limit the flow of rich mixture to the intake passage B2 for the second cylinder while increasing such flow to the intake passages B1 and B3 by such reduced flow.</p> |
