<p>PURPOSE:To speed up printing operations by continuously operating heating elements by a method in which the feeding speed of a recording paper is hastened in dots constituting one picture element beyond that between picture elements, and the heating elements are driven synchronously with the feeding direction of the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A platen roller 1 is turned in the direction of arrow A by rotation of a rotary shaft 2. A recording paper 5 is pressingly held through a transfer paper 4 between the platen roller 1 and a thermal head 3. The paper 5 is run in the direction of arrow B synchronously with rotation of the roller 1. The heating element of the thermal head 3, consisting of one row heating element group R composed of heating elements R1, R2...Rn each of which is provided with cells Y1, Y2... to apply signals and with a common cell X provided in the face of these, is provided on a flat plate. A drive voltage is selectively applied between both the cells Y and X and transferred to dots showing hatching, for example, for printing for one line.</p> |
