PURPOSE:To design positioning stop with high accuracy by improving the way of positioning stop during free vertical movement of a cartridge hard mechanism, in the case of said cartridge hand mechanism in a cartridge taking-out-and transport mechanism provided in parallel with a vertical cartridge storing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A cartridge auto changer is provided with a cartridge taking-out- and-transport system 40 having a cartridge hand system 78 to go up and down freely along a vertical rail 49 in parallel to a cartridge storing mechanism 20 having a drum-shaped cartridge storing shelf 21. In this case, the hand mechanism 78 is, for example, made to stop its riving to rise at the point of time when the rising and arrival at the aimed height position of the mechanism 78 is detected by sensor means, and to drive to descend slightly when stopping at position shifted above the aimed height position due to ascending inertia. And, when stopping at a shifted position below the aimed height position due to descending inertia, the hand mechanism 78 is controlled to drive to rise slightly again to stop at the aimed height position. |
