PURPOSE:To lessen the difference of recording density at connecting points of recorded picture by designating the heating quantity of upper and lower side thermal heads in the moving direction of a carriage to given values. CONSTITUTION:Under the condition that a carriage 3 moves toward a detector 12, the upper thermal head 10 in the moving direction is driven by a drive circuit 14 of wide drive pulse widths, and the lower thermal head 9 is driven by a drive circuit 13, where the heating quantity of the head 10 becomes greater than the head 9. The same is true of the case where the moving direction of the carriage 3 is opposite. The difference of density at connecting points of recording by the heads 9 and 10 becomes smaller than in the case where the heads 9 and 10 are driven in such a way as to equalize the heating quantities. The quality of recording can thus be raised. |
