PURPOSE:To prevent thermal fault by providing a temp. detecting device in a protecting cover of an encoder, and controlling a control circuit of a motor at the prescribed temp. CONSTITUTION:The temp. detecting device 15 is provided in the protecting cover 4 of the encoder 3 coupled with the reverse output side of a rotating shaft 2 of the motor 1, and the output is connected with the control circuit 10 of the motor 1 by a wire 16. If the temp. in the cover 4 attains the prescribed temp., the signal is sent to the circuit 10 from the device 15, the consumed power of the motor 1 is decreased by e.g. lowering the steady velocity thereof, and the temp. rise in the cover 4 is prevented.
