PURPOSE:To prevent problems of a response characteristic of a liquid crystal and an afterglow characteristic of a fluorescent material from being raised by providing a changeover means for switching a polarizing direction of a polarizing filter in accordance with positions of right and left eye video signals comprising a double-speed signal. CONSTITUTION:A left eye video signal SL and a right eye video signal SR are supplied to terminals 3L and 3R, respectively, and after they are converted into digital signals by A/D convertors 4L and 4R, they are supplied to a double-speed convertor circuit 5. Horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals are supplied to terminals 6H and 6B as well as to a clock signal generator 7, which is connected to a control circuit 8 and controls actions of the circuit 5. The signal SL and the signal SR which is delayed by 40 horizontal periods are alternately arrayed by one horizontal period in the circuit 5, and a double-speed signal S* whose horizontal frequency is doubled can be obtained. After the signal S* is converted into an analog signal by a D/A convertor 9, it is supplied to an image receiving tube 1. |
