PURPOSE:To obtain an automatic welding device which is inexpensive and has a good accuracy by providing a groove detecting follow-up device which does not require a two-dimensional image pickup device, nor requires a complicated signal processing. CONSTITUTION:A reference AC signal is supplied to a galvanometer 28 from a reference AC signal source 32, and by a period of its reference AC signal, a reflected laser beam is scanned in the direction X orthogonal to the direction of a groove 16. An output of an analog integrator 42 is superposed on a reference AC signal through an analog adder 44, by which the galvanometer 28 is brought to a feedback control and the center point of the scan is made to follow a position of the groove 16. On the other hand, a positioning device 20 makes a welding machine 18 follow the groove 16 by supplying an output of the analog integrator 42 as a control signal to the positioning device 20 through a low-pass filter 46. |
