PURPOSE:To decide easily the quality of a surface acoustic wave element before it is packaged by connecting electromagnetically a loop-shaped electrode to another loop-shaped electrode which is formed so that each of input/output comb-shaped electrodes is short-circuited. CONSTITUTION:Loop-shaped electrodes 4 and 5 are provided to short-circuit each of input and output comb-shaped electrodes 2 and 3 formed on a piezoelectric substrate 1. Then loop-shaped electrodes 6 and 7 are set close to electrodes 4 and 5 respectively. Then electrodes 6 and 7 are connected to an oscillator 8 and a detector 9 respectively. Thus electrodes 4 and 6 are connected electromagnetically to electrodes 5 and 7 respectively. Thus the characteristics of a surface acoustic wave element can be measured based on the input and the output given from the oscillator 8 and the detector 9 respectively. Based on the result of this measurement, the quality of said wave element can be decided. Thus it is possible to decide easily the quality of the surface acoustic wave element before it is packaged. |
