METHOD AND DEVICE FOR HUMIDIFYING OR DEHYDRATING BLANK MATERIAL TO BE SUPPLIED INTO CYLINDER IN EXTRUDER

PURPOSE:To improve the quality of extrudded goods by constituting part or the whole of the inside wall of a cylinder of a porous metal having open cells and humidifying or dehydrating the material through the fine pores thereof. CONSTITUTION:The inside wall 10 of a circular cylinder 2 is fitted and fixed to the inside peripheral groove 5b of a bushing 5. The inside wall 10 is constituted of a porous metallic material and communicating holes 5c are kept communicated with a through-hole 2a through the cells of the wall 10. A blank supply material is kneaded and extruded while pressed between the fins 1a of a screw. On the other hand, a water storage tank 7 is connected via a pump 8 to the intake pipe 6b of a jacket 6. Pressure water is filled in the cavity part 6a and the pressure water contacts with the outside peripheral surface of the wall 10. The pressure water is thus uniformly supplied to the supply blank material through the open cells of the wall 10, by which the quality of the extruded goods is improved.
