PURPOSE:To separate efficiently suspended substances from an aq. soln. contg. acids and alkalis with the use of finely pored membrane having excellent resistance to acids and alkalis by using a membrane consisting essentially of polyphenylene sulfide whose mean pore diameter, porosity and membrane thickness are regulated within specified limits. CONSTITUTION:A finely pored membrane consisting essentially of polyphenylene sulfide, having 0.01-5mum mean pore diameter, 10-85% porosity, and 5-200mum membrane thickness, and having many fine through-pores is used. By using said membrane, the suspended fine particles of metallic insoluble salts and oily materials are microfiltered or ultrafiltered from an aq. soln. contg. acids and alkalis such as hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. |
