<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the misdetection owing to introduction of noise such as static electricity into a tape end sensor, etc. by changing the detecting time of the tape end in response to the driving speed of a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:When a tape end is detected by a tape end detecting part 1, a tape end signal (a) is outputted to an action control part 2 of a magnetic recording/ reproducing device. When the part 2 receives the signal (a), the part 2 detects the working mode of the recording/reproducing device by another signal supplied for ordinary action control. Then the part 2 knows the tape driving speed and sets the detecting time width in accordance with the tape driving speed. This time width is compared with the detection time of the signal (a), and the part 2 recognizes the tape end, and performs the appropriate processing. For instance, the detecting time width 1b is set at 1 and the detecting time width 2 can be set at about 10 if the interval time for detection of the tape end is set at several milliseconds. Thus it is possible to prevent the misdetection of a tape end due to introducing of noise of static electricity into a tape end sensor, etc.</p> |
