摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a paste type cadmium anode plate whose coming off of active material is prevented, and high rate discharge performance and oxygen gas absorbing ability are increased by forming a carbon thin layer on the surface of a cadmium active material layer by using water soluble gelling agent. CONSTITUTION:A conductive core strip 7 is passed in an active material slurry bath 2, and slurry mainly comprising cadmium compound is spreaded thereon, coated thickness is adjusted with a slit 8, dried with a drier 3 to form an active material layer on the surface of the conductive strip 7. The active material coated core is passed through a transfer roller 4 to spread to the specified thickness the slurry prepared by uniformly dispersing carbon powder in water soluble gelling agent solution on the surface of the active material. The transfer roller comprising at least two rollers is used to adjust thickness by transferring to adjacent rollers in order. Then, the carbon slurry coated core is dried with a drier 5. Thereby, a paste type cadmium anode formed with carbon thin layer on the surface of its active material is obtained.
