PURPOSE:The titled compsn. excellent in stain resistance, transparency, chemical resistance and surface hardness, comprising a specified hydrolyzed org. Si compd. and an Al chelate compd. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. hydrolyzed org. Si compd. of the formula I (wherein R<1> is a 1-2C hydrocarbon group; R<2> is a 1-6C hydrocarbon group, alkoxyalkyl or acyl) is compounded with 1-100pts.wt. Al chelate compd. of the formula II(wherein X is 1-5C alkoxy; Y is a ligand formed from a beta-diketone compd. or beta-ketoester compd.; n is 0-2) to obtain a compsn. for coating. Then the compsn. is applied in 0.01-20mu thickness on the surface of a material with relatively low surface hardness and cured by heating to 50-300 deg.C.
