PURPOSE:To prevent effectively the deterioration in a time code signal at dubbing by generating a time code signal again based on time code data read from a reproducing signal and inserting the time code signal generated again to a reproducing signal subjected to delay while keeping the correspondence accurately. CONSTITUTION:Since a signal processing such as error check by a CRC code is applied after all 90-bit of a data format is read so as to obtain a final VITC data in the reading of the VITC data by a VITC (vertical interval time code) reader 3, the read VITC data is outputted with at least a delay of 1H (H is horizontal scanning period) to the original VITC signal, and then the VITC signal generated again based on the read data is subjected to delay by 1H or over. Then the VITC data is read while the signal delay is processed.
