PURPOSE:To minimize deformation of a bed caused by a shift of the center of gravity due to movement of a carrier base on the bed, to make it possible to carry out a highly accurate electrical discharge machining process, by forming a guide rail and the bed with the use of a bed provided with a rail which has a single plate at each side. CONSTITUTION:Since a saddle guide rail section 11a and bed 11b are formed of a bed 11 provided with a rail having a single plate structure, the rigidity of the bed 11 provided with the rail may be enhanced in comparison with a conventional one in which reinforcing ribs are attached orthogonal to the rail, and further, the rigidity of the guide rail therealong is uniform, which has been not uniform in the conventional one, so that no abrupt change in rigidity occurs even if the center of gravity is shifted, and no substantial deformation also takes place. Accordingly, a highly accurate electric discharge machining process may be carried out and the low cost thereof may be reduced since no ribs are required. |
