PURPOSE:To prevent collision between workpieces so that they may be prevented from coming off or being damaged, by carrying out such a control that the delivery operation of workpieces is carried out after workpieces transferred from an upstream side machining station have passed. CONSTITUTION:When a downstream side station adjacent to an upstream side station detects that a container has already been delivered from the upstream side machining station, the delivery of workpieces from the downstream side station is interrupted for a while. That is, even if a signal f2 is delivered from a station 6A, no delivery is made from the station 6A. The delivery is carried out after a predetermined time elapses from the time point when the delivery operation from the station 6 is carried out after a delivery signal is issued from the station 6. Thus a container delivered from the station 6 is prevented from colliding against a container delivered from the station 6A, and thereby it is possible to prevent the workpieces from coming off from a conveyor and from being damaged.
