PURPOSE:To prevent the speed of air flow on the front surface apart from a nose of a through-flow fan from lowering to improve the efficiency of a heat exchanger by making small the fin pitch of an aluminum fin heat exchanger at the nose portion of the through-flow fan and making large the fin pitch of aluminum fins which are away from the nose portion of the through-flow fan. CONSTITUTION:The pitch of aluminum fins of an outdoor heat exchanger B is set at 1.6mm., for example, at the part B in the vicinity of the nose of the through-flow fan 3 and the fin pitch at the part A where the air flow speed on the front surface is slow to make uniform the air flow speed on the front surface of the through-flow fan. Since the through-flow fan 3 has such a characteristic that when the pressure loss varies, the quantity of air flow reduces, it has also a characteristic in that when the pressure loss at a place where the air flow loss is large becomes small, the quantity of air flow increases. As a result, since the pressure loss becomes small and the air flow quantity increases by making large the fin pitch at the part A which is apart from the nose, upon a heating mode operation, the efficiency of heat exchange can be improved and the heating effect can be increased without frosting.
