PURPOSE:To miniturize the device while ensuring sufficient filter paper area by arranging a filter to a gap between discs. CONSTITUTION:Plural magnetic discs 1 are fixed at a pindle hub 3 of a spindle motor 11 attached to a base 5 while a prescribed gap is maintained by a disc spacer 10. A filter 9 is arranged to a gap between the discs except a region 13 through which a head 2 is moved in the gap. Thus, the filter is installed without increasing the height of the device by utilizing a space existing conventinally and not used yet.
