PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent corrosionproofness and adhesion to the surface of metal, consisting of a specified epoxy resin and an amino compd. hardener. CONSTITUTION:1-10wt% sorbitol or mannitol is reacted with an epoxy resin in the presence of a tert. amine at 120-180 deg.C. Alternatively, 1-15wt% half ester compd. obtd. by reacting an equimolar amount of sorbitol or mannitol with a dibasic acid anhydride, is reacted with an epoxy resin at 100-180 deg.C to obtain a base (A) composed of an epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent of 300-2,000. Component A is mixed with a hardener composed of an amino compd. (B) in such a proportion as to give an equivalent ratio of the epoxy group in component A to the amino group in component B of 1/2-2/1.
