PURPOSE:To maintain delivering tensile force always constant and carry out proper delivery by detecting change in the diameter of the roll of band-like member due to the delivery of said band-like member and vary the resistance force to the delivery shaft of the band-like member based on this detected signal. CONSTITUTION:Ribbon 1, which is wound up into a roll, is held by a delivery shaft 2, and the delivered ribbon 1 is wound up on a winding shaft 5 driven by a motor 6, through guide rollers 3, 4. The ribbon 1, together with a label 9, is held between a platen 7 and a thermal head 8, on its way being transferred, with letters printed on it. A roll diameter detecting lever 10 is brought in contact with the outer periphery of the roll of ribbon 1, and a detector 11, which detects change in the diameter of roll electrically, is connected to the lever 10. The output signal of the detector 11 is inputted into an electromagnetic clutch 13 through an amplifier 12, and change in the torque of the electromagnetic clutch 13, which is connected to the delivery shaft 2, varies the resistance force to the shaft 2. |
