PURPOSE:To increase the life by dividing lined plates formed between two concentrically disposed electrodes into a plurality in a circumferential direction, and superposing the adjacent ends in an irregular shape, thereby eliminating the suction of a heat insulator formed on the back surface of the plate. CONSTITUTION:In a MHD generator in which two electrodes 4, 5 are concentrically disposed, high temperature electromagnetic fluid gas is flowed radially from the center to generate a voltage between the electrodes 4 and 5, lined plates 6 are provided between the electrodes 4 and 5. The plates 6 are divided into a plurality in the circumferential direction, and a superposed portion 10 is formed at the adjacent ends of the divided portions. Thus, it can prevent heat insulators 7 provided between the plates 6 and an outer wall 8 from being attracted through a gap 9 into a duct, thereby performing a long time operation in which no discharge nor a shortcircuiting phenomenon occur. |
