PURPOSE:To take out a rotatory output, by attaching plural shape memory alloy members inside a harmonic gear, and sequentially heating and cooling only one diagonal pair of the members, in a prescribed direction to expand and compress all the members. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft 8 is rotatably supported by bearings 9, 9a held on a bracket 2, and is coupled to a flexible ply 25. Shape memory alloy members 13 wound as helical springs are provided on an annular communtator 14 and connected to an electroconductive ring 15. One diagonal pair of the shape memory alloy members 13 are repeatedly heated and cooled so that a rotatory output is taken out. According to this constitution, a stator is dispensed with, so that the thickness of the body of an actuator is reduced. |
